Sessions for citizens.


Successful outcomes in the park and recreation field are really times the direct result of engaged, knowledgeable citizens, professionals, and students. To help foster this environment, the C-BM branch has announced several workshop sessions for this year's NRPA NRPA National Recreation and Park Association
NRPA Natural Resources Protective Association (Staten Island, NY)
NRPA Niagara Regional Police Association (Canada)
NRPA National Rifle and Pistol Association
 Congress Oct. 12-15 in Reno Reno (rē`nō), city (1990 pop. 133,850), seat of Washoe co., W Nev., on the Truckee River; inc. 1903. Tourism has been the major industry since gambling was legalized in Nevada in 1931. , Nev.

The branch hopes these workshops will help educate the citizen volunteer, friend, commissioner/boardmember and professional:

Special Congress Session

In a special session at the NRPA Congress in Reno, Nev., National Park Service Director Fran P. Mainella Fran P. Mainella was the 16th Director of the National Park Service of the United States and first woman to hold that position. She was appointed by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2001.  (below) will address professionals and students about the future of our nation's public spaces. Like many other agencies, the National Park Service confronts challenges such as increasing visitor use, security concerns and an aging workforce. Mainella will discuss what the managers of today are doing to combat these dilemmas plus what the managers of tomorrow will face in coming years. The session is entitled en·ti·tle
