Service salute: Soroptimist award helps women pursue career goals.


Female heads of household seeking to improve their employment status may look to Soroptimist International of the Americas, Philadelphia, for assistance. Since 1972, the organization's Women's Opportunity Awards have provided cash awards that recipients may use for "any expense related to their educational pursuits," including tuition For tuition fees in the United Kingdom, see .

Local Soroptimist clubs give Women's Opportunity Awards in amounts that they determine to any number of women. Winners at the community level are then eligible to receive one of 28 regional awards.
