Sequent and Spectra Logic announce OEM agreement; Spectra Logic to provide automated tape libraries and Alexandria software.

Sequent Computer Systems will OEM Spectra Logic's award-winning automated tape library systems and its benchmark-proven, high-performance Alexandria backup and archival software. Within the terms of the OEM agreement, Spectra Logic products will be branded as Sequent products and support will be provided by Sequent's world-class service organization.

The Spectra Logic 4mm automated tape library systems and Alexandria software are components of Sequent's ESBM (Enterprise Scalability Backup Manager) solution. Sequent selected Spectra Logic's 4mm library because of its ease of operation, reliability and proven customer acceptance.

Spectra Logic's Storage Systems Product Manager, Britt Terry said, "Spectra Logic's automated tape library systems provide superior price/performance as well as the industry's smallest footprint, making it ideal for use in Sequent's server enclosures.
