I'm proud to say that Americans United is the first organization I have ever joined. It's comforting to know that growing numbers of Americans are coming to understand that separation of church and state

Organizations like AU are the unsung watchdogs protecting all Americans from religious and/or governmental tyranny. Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. If we become complacent, our freedom to practice or not practice religion will, little by little, erode Erode (ĕrōd`), city (1991 urban agglomeration pop. 361,755), Tamil Nadu state, S India, on the Kaveri River. The city is located in a cotton-growing region, and its industries include cotton ginning and the manufacture of transport equipment. to the point where patriotism itself will be redefined by one's religious affiliation or lack thereof.
