Sendmail, Inc., an established leading provider of email systems, announced today the availability of its Mailcenter product line. The new solution provides a cost-effective message hosting and access solution for diverse user communities including service providers, universities and enterprises employing large, decentralized workforces. Mailcenter's modular design allows organizations to scale the messaging system across inexpensive hardware, accommodate wide-ranging business requirements such as geographic dispersion and deliver breakthrough message processing capabilities to their entire user community.

Mailcenter surrounds Sendmail's industrial strength IMAP and POP server with its template driven Webmail and wireless access server, and introduces Intelligent Inbox directory services and personal delivery filters which provide users control over how they receive and access their mail. Mailcenter overlays the message processing, spam and virus-fighting, and policy enforcement capabilities in Sendmail's Mailstream Manager to create a rich, reliable ecosystem that adapts to existing architectures to minimize disruptions in service, excessive costs, or redesign.

The intent of Mailcenter is to provide customers with a comprehensive email solution that includes:

-- Sendmail Advanced Message Server 2 ("SAMS") is an industrial

strength IMAP and POP access server. SAMS provides advanced

features such as IMAP Shared folders, plus+detail folder

delivery, mailbox size and message quantity quotas, and

message aging and account expiration scripts. Mailcenter is

designed to support single instance message storage, online

backup and failure recovery and robust command-line

administrative APIs to integrate easily into existing

environments.

-- Sendmail Intelligent Inbox uses powerful Sieve scripts to

dynamically sort mail into IMAP folders, reject, forward, and

respond to messages. End users define these scripts using a

secure web interface, the Integrated Management Console. The

scripts, stored in the included directory, are retrieved by

the Message Organizer engine and executed in stream before

mail arrives in the mailbox. These centralized, personal

delivery filters facilitate presorted mail, faster client

access, less clutter and thus provide a significantly higher

degree of access freedom.

-- Sendmail Mobile Message Server 2 ("SMMS") is a carrier-class,

flexibly scalable Webmail and wireless solution enabling users

to read, compose, save, delete, forward, and reply to messages

from wherever they are. IMAP support provides users with a

consistent view of messages from multiple access devices. SMMS

includes two customizable Webmail templates interfaces

including templates localized in Japanese, French and German.

SMMS also includes templates for WAP and imode wireless

access.
