(News and Information).Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities (SENCER SENCER Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities ) is a strategic initiative of AAC&U to promote and sustain large-scale, durable, institutionalized in·sti·tu·tion·al·ize tr.v. in·sti·tu·tion·al·ized, in·sti·tu·tion·al·iz·ing, in·sti·tu·tion·al·iz·es 1. a. To make into, treat as, or give the character of an institution to. b. science education reform. It aims to improve science education within the context of improved general education, in support of an engaged community. Models to develop competency COMPETENCY, evidence. The legal fitness or ability of a witness to be heard on the trial of a cause. This term is also applied to written or other evidence which may be legally given on such trial, as, depositions, letters, account-books, and the like. 2. in scientific reasoning and its related sensibilities sen·si·bil·i·ty n. pl. sen·si·bil·i·ties 1. The ability to feel or perceive. 2. a. Keen intellectual perception: the sensibility of a painter to color. b. teach through science to the complex and unsolved public issues that have significant "scientific" dimensions.
