Though Senator Barack Obama assured the Israelis and its U.S. Jewish supporters on Wednesday, he was a friend, who would not press for peace concessions ,that would compromise its security, in his meetings with Mahmoud Abbas, senator Obama expressed his hope to see basic steps, on the ground. A necessarily first step, in the right direction, for the Palestinian people to feel there is a possibility for a real peace.

Senator Obama promised that if his candidature would led to a democratic victory in the US presidential elections, he would not waste any time in serious efforts for a just peace."We don''t need a peace deal just to have a piece of paper," he said. "We need something that is meaningful and lasting."

On Tuesday, during a breath stop in Jordan,senator Obama said in a meeting with King Abdullah II, that he is committed in bringing the Palestinian and the Israelis together,he said "starting from the minute I am sworn into the office.However it must be understood, it is unrealistic to expect that a U.S. president alone can snap his fingers and suddenly bring about peace in this region."

The tarnished US image might have faded a bit, changed the view of the Palestinians,as it has elsewhere in the region.Many Palestinians has followed closely the US presidential campaign,and the great success achieved by an Afro-American candidate.There is the hope among the Palestinians, that a US leader, with senator Obama''s ethnic background,can easier relate to the Palestinian struggle, understand the hardship,which has its roots in benightedness and in willful ignorance.

Senator Barack Obama, has observed closely the reality, the humanitarian tragedy of the Palestinian people, the brutal repression,the suffering due to the Israelis siege and the Israelis aggressions.The Palestinian people, with all rights, perceive that the U.S. is so irrevocably biased toward Israel,that it probably want make a big difference whether Barack Obama or McCain is elected U.S. president.

The Palestinian ecological and economical infrastructure is devastated.Too many Palestinians have lost their lives, too many Palestinians, including the children are traumatized, suffering from incurable life long damages, the loss of limbs, the loss of hearing and loss of eyesight. Too many Palestinian families have lost their love ones, too many Palestinians have lost their homes and their possessions, the confiscation of Palestinian ancestral land continues.The Israelis are using the pretext: security reasons.

And, the building of new Israeli settlements continues,the land theft continues, simultaneously Israeli occupation soldiers and Israeli settlers go berserk, shooting and killing Palestinian residents, the landowners, who dare to oppose the terror, the theft of their lands.

Israeli security reasons and Palestinian right to security. We all suspect the Israelis objectives are willfully, premeditated, the domination of the Middle Eastern region. Why can''t they understand they can not, and will never have it all. Why not settle their astronomical due dept,to the Palestinians, make contributions, compensate for colonized Palestinian Arab land, and property destroyed. In a show of grace and decency, thankful for the land they already have been given, for free, withdraw from Palestinian land occupied 1967 to this day,.respect the 242 and 478, UN resolutions, unanimously adopted by the UN security council.

I have met senator Barack Obama and I like him,.I have heard him speak in several campaign meetings during the .past four years. In one occasion I was present at a meeting at a US university, in his speech there, Obama was critical of US policy and he called for a more balanced approach, to the issue Palestine-Israel.

Senator Obama has a delicate challenge: how to balance the obligations he faces at a very critical time in our history.He has passed through hard surveillance and scrutiny, in a tough primary race and he won the race..Senator Barack Obama has many powerful supporters and friends, also in the Middle East.It will make a big difference,who will be the next US president, not only for the Palestinian people or for the region, but for the entire world.
