Semtech Announces New High-Speed, Quad Channel ECL Delay Line; Device Ideally Suited for Channel Deskew in High-Speed Automated Test Equipment.

), a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors for communications, computers and industrial equipment, today announced availability of its latest high-speed, quad channel, ECL (Emitter-Coupled Logic) A digital circuit composed of bipolar transistors in which the emitter ends are wired together. ECL gates switch faster than TTL gates, but consume more power. See TTL, I2L and bipolar.

The E728 operates up to 250 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. The product offers extremely accurate signal timing delays, a necessity when testing high-speed memory devices. If required, the analog delay inputs can also be utilized to compensate for other non-temperature stable devices in the signal chain. There is also a drive mode for routing one input signal to all of the system outputs, a feature particularly useful in signal fanout applications.
