Semi-permanent release. (Materials).

A water-based, semi-permanent release coating has been developed for difficult to release robber compounds and parts such as HNBR, FKM, polyacrylates, EPDM (peroxide cured) and butyl rubber. The release is said to provide a durable, colorless, dry film coating with no transfer to the molded part. It is said to have proven to replace solvent-based release products. Custom usage has shown a reduction in rejected parts, improved surface appearance, and superior robber flow without producing knit lines and mold buildup, according to the manufacturer. Being a water-based coating, it is odor-free, providing a safe workplace for operators. It is said to be an excellent release product for seals, gaskets and o-rings, as well as complex mold designs and undercuts. Sample quantifies are available for testing.
