Self Help Instructions Stir Sleeping Giants.DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 6, 1998--Travelers on the Internet leave footprints that enable enterprising en·ter·pris·ing adj. Showing initiative and willingness to undertake new projects: The enterprising children opened a lemonade stand. webmasters track them back to their servers. For an unusual new self-help system located at www.HAMR.com such "cyber-trails" have frequently led to national defense organizations, universities, pharmaceutical companies and financial information firms. Instructions on how to utilize Hand-Actuated-Mental-Reconditioning (HAMR) are graphically displayed at the site. David Nelms, inventor of the process, states, "Servers at NASA NASA: see National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It is also the home of the Aerospace Museum of California. , and the Research and Development Branch of Canada's Department of National Defence have connected to HAMR.com." Nelms speculates that some of it may be related to his military background. "I was an electronics man in the Air Force," he says, "and I've always had a gift for figuring things out." What he has figured out, he claims, is a simple way to rewire re·wire v. re·wired, re·wir·ing, re·wires v.tr. To provide with new wiring: rewired the old house. v.intr. Nelms says, "Dupont Merk Corporation, CapMed Systems, Agouron Pharmaceuticals, Immunex, Lilly Worldwide Health Care Solutions and McKesson Pharmaceutical Management Solutions have peeked at the site. A few financial information firms like Bridge Information Systems and PricewaterhouseCoopers have also visited." According to Nelms, the instructions have gone into at least thirty different countries, including Taiwan and the Peoples Republic of China. Most of his overseas traffic, he says, comes from England, the Netherlands, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Italy, Finland and Belgium. A warning at the beginning of the website emphasizes that the process is new and that Nelms is not a psychologist. In short, it points out that HAMR is an unknown quantity. Then again, how much do we really know about anything? On the one hand HAMR is unfamiliar and strange, and on the other hand it does not cost anything.
