Sandplay Therapists of America (STA)

Sandplay therapy Sandplay therapy is a form of psychotherapy used with children as well as adults, for the purpose of healing through connection with the deep psyche. Its founder was the Swiss therapist Dora M.  consists of "playing in the sand" either with mini-figurines or drawing in it, thereby acting out unknown or unrecognized parts of the unconscious. Eight deaf artists gathered at a four-day workshop in 1989 and created Deaf View/Image Art (De'Via). De'Via is different from other deaf art in that it uses art with the intention of expressing the physical and cultural deaf experience.
