Apple used SLP prior to Mac OS 10.2, but migrated to its Bonjour technology. SLP is also used in SIP-based IP telephony applications.  220 -- to its line of specialized printers for personal computer users who need one-at-a-time labels.

Both small desktop printers work with Windows 3.1 or higher PCs and carry estimated street prices of $199 for the SLP 120 and $249 for the SLP 220. Both feature high resolution thermal output, compact design and several user-requested enhancements. To take advantage of the full set of new features users need Windows 95 or NT systems.

The new printers begin shipping this month. They will be sold at computer superstores This is a list of superstores by country. Multi-national

The SLP 220 accommodates labels up to two inches wide and replaces the top-of-the-line SLP Pro. The SLP 120, which uses labels up to one inch wide, bridges the gap between the SLP Pro and the entry-level SLP EZ30 ($149).

At three seconds per label, the SLP 220 is almost twice as fast as the SLP Pro. The SLP 120 is five times faster than the SLP EZ30. A new printer design makes it easier to change and load a new label roll.

Other new features include: Auto-reverse, which eliminates the loss of the first label when reloading Reloading
