First, the reader sees a picture of an object that begins with the letter in question. When readers flip the window open, they will see the capital letter. For instance, after you see the picture of an arrowhead arrowhead, any plant of the genus Sagittaria, widely distributed marsh or aquatic herbs of the primitive family Alismataceae (water-plantain family). The name derives from the arrowhead-shaped leaves of many species. , flip the window to see a capital A; see the zipper zipper Device for binding the edges of an opening, as on a garment or a bag. A zipper consists of two strips of material with metal or plastic teeth along the edges, and a sliding piece that interlocks the teeth when moved in one direction and separates them again when moved ... flip the window to see the Z. Young readers may need to share this alphabet adventure with an older reader because the fragile flapped windows can be easily torn. Ages 4 to 8. Reviewed by Jen Miller, Reading, PA |
