See the sights.

San Antonio, Texas, is a unique destination and will be host to DHI's 20th Annual Convention and Exposition, which takes place October 14-16, 1995. While DHI will offer a spectacular convention, don't forget to take time to explore the city of San Antonio.

DHI has arranged tours that you may participate in to help you take advantage of and see all the wonderful sites. None of the DHI tours will conflict with show hours - allowing you to participate fully in the convention program and tours.

Before the Meeting

* Viva! San Antonio - A tour that will allow you to enjoy a delightful Friday (October 13) in Alamo City. Motorcoach transportation will escort you to the "Alamo;" the historic King William District, established by German immigrants in the mid 1800's; the Mission San Jose established in 1720 - it is the most beautiful and best fortified of the Texas missions; the Institute of Texan Cultures; and finally to El Mercado, the Mexican Market where you'll be free to lunch and shop in many specialty stores displaying everything from the smart to the exotic.

* San Marcos Outlet Shopping Tour - Enjoy outlet shopping from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, at San Marcos Factory stores (approximately a 40-minute coach ride from San Antonio). It features stores such as Bass, Ann Taylor, J. Crew, Donna Karan, Eddie Bauer, Esprit, Fitz & Floyd, Mikasa, Naturalizer, Nine West, Perry Ellis ... more than 200 stores to choose from and all at 25% to 70% savings. So wear your comfortable shoes and get ready to shop until you drop! All this for only $24.

Saturday Morning

* San Antonio By Land and By Water Tour - $25 goes a long way in San Antonio. This tour takes you on a journey of the city by land and by water. By Land - visit Hemisfair Plaza, site of a miniworld's fair in 1968. The 750 ft., Tower of the Americas pin-points the location. This is one of the most delightful waterparks in the nation. Next, you'll walk to La Villita. More than 200 years old, this "little town" is a unique arts and crafts community comprised of 26 shops with working artisans. By Water - you'll take a barge ride on the Pasco del Rio (Riverwalk), the pride of the city and then on to the Lone Star Brewery, which features among their selection of beer, more than 3,500 wildlife trophies exhibited in their natural habitat. The tour begins at 9:00 a.m.

After the Meeting

* Horseback Riding on the Cowboy Trail (Lightning Ranch) From 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, you can pretend you're a wrangler. Upon arrival at the Lightning Ranch, you'll be greeted by fellow wranglers on horseback. Then you'll saddle up and head out for horseback riding at a working ranch. Located in the Texas Hill country, this is the chance of a lifetime. Other activities include volleyball, ping pong, shuffleboard, horseshoes and roping instructions.
