Securities exchange adds 22,000 s/f at Wells REIT's 60 Broad Street.


International Securities Exchange Inc., the world's largest equity options exchange, expanded its lease at 60 Broad Street by 22,135 s/f for 10 years, increasing its presence in the building to nearly 65,000 square feet.

The leasing efforts on behalf of ISE Ise (ē`sā), city (1990 pop. 104,164), Mie prefecture, S Honshu, Japan, on Ise Bay. It is one of the foremost religious centers of Shinto, the site of the shrines of Ise.  were led by the Newmark Knight Frank team of managing directors Robert Eisenberg and Jeffrey I. Peck peck: see English units of measurement.  together with Mark S. Weiss, executive vice president and principal.

ISE previously leased floors 26 through 28 from the landlord, Wells Real Estate Investment Trust, and subleased a portion of the 31st floor.

This new transaction includes a direct lease with Wells Real Estate Investment Trust for 12,275 square feet on the entire 29th floor.

In addition, when its sublease sublease n. the lease of all or a portion of premises by a tenant who has leased the premises from the owner. A sublease may be prohibited by the original lease, or require written permission from the owner.  on the 31st floor expires, ISE will lease the space directly from Wells Real Estate Investment Trust to run coterminous co·ter·mi·nous

"ISE needed to expand but did not want to split its operations. We worked together with Wells Real Estate Investment Trust to assemble the additional space," Peck explained.

"This is an expansion of an innovative tenant. It is truly an exciting, fast-growing dynamic company," added Eisenberg.

The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. , and since that time, has grown rapidly. In 2003, it traded its 250-millionth contract, making ISE the largest U.S. equity options exchange and, in March 2005, ISE became the first securities exchange to sell its shares in an initial public offering.
