SecureLogix CTO Headlining Three Telephony/VoIP Security Sessions at VoiceCon Fall 2007.

SAN ANTONIO -- SecureLogix Corporation announced today that Chief Technology Officer and VP of Engineering Mark Collier will discuss a host of corporate telecom security issues and countermeasures during three different presentations at the VoiceCon Fall 2007 conference and exhibition. The conference is being held from August 20th through the 23rd at the Moscone North Convention Center in San Francisco, California. Mark Collier is a long-time VoiceCon presenter and co-author of the new book Hacking Exposed: VoIP (McGraw Hill, 2006).

Telephony/VoIP Security a Key Topic at VoiceCon Fall 2007:

Telephony security expert Mark Collier will lead the following VoiceCon presentations from Monday, August 20, through Wednesday, August 22, 2007.

* IP Telephony Security Threats and Countermeasures (tutorial) - August 20, 2007, 9:00 a.m. - 12 Noon: IP Telephony has already become a popular playground for attackers. This tutorial provides the latest information on security issues for IP Telephony implementations. The course will help participants assess the potential dangers and identify the steps that can be taken to improve security. Participants will gain an appreciation for the nature of the security threats to IP-PBX gear and receive practical recommendations for how to handle threats.

* Preparing for the Inevitable: Voice-Oriented Attacks (panel presentation) - August 21, 2007, 2:45 - 3:45 p.m.: So far, the emphasis in VoIP security has been to protect the underlying IP network, rather than voice elements, from attacks. However, it is only a matter of time before call-control servers and other voice network elements are targeted directly. This session will familiarize participants with voice-oriented attacks and give them ammunition to help prevent or contain any damage.

* Morning Call: Conversations on Critical Issues (plenary session) - August 22, 2007, 8:00 - 8:15 a.m.: This plenary session offers a quick, concise, hard-hitting take on three issues that participants cannot afford to ignore. VoiceCon Co-Chair Eric Krapf will conduct one-on-one interviews with top experts, homing in on the single most critical aspect of each issue. Mark Collier will be featured in the first session, "Enterprise IP Telephony Security: How Big is the Threat?"
