Stellarton's Carrot Creek Facility utilizes 709,000 Btu's/hr of heat produced by the TA45 to support an existing boiler. The added heat displaces natural gas normally burned in the boiler, and allows Stellarton to produce a larger volume of sales gas and liquids. As well as providing standby power Standby power, also called Vampire power, refers to the electric power consumed by electronic appliances in a standby mode. A very common "electricity vampire" is a power adaptor built on a plug with no power switch. , the TA45 supplies 27kw to 37kw of continuous electric energy (at 3,100 feet elevation) to dedicated loads isolated from the power grid. The TA45 achieves an overall electrical plus heat efficiency of over 80%.
