Secure Heads East with Korean Distribution Deal.

Security software vendor Secure Computing Corp is extending its firewall business into Asia through a distribution agreement with Insung Digital Co Ltd. The San Jose, California-based firewall specialist has inked a deal with Insung Digital, a Korean value-added distributor, which will integrate Secure's Sidewinder G2 Firewall software with servers from Hewlett Packard Co for distribution in Korea.

Insung Digital is the largest HP reseller in Korea, according to Secure, which also quoted figures from the Korea Information Security Industry Association that firewall sales in the region are forecast to grow 27% to $70m this year.

"The Asian marketplace holds tremendous potential for our Sidewinder G2 Firewall and Insung is the ideal distributor to roll out the product in Korea," commented Secure's VP of Asia Pacific, Ker Gibbs.
