Secure Computing warns of serious BlackBerry hack threat.

Secure Computing Corporation, or SCC, is a public company (NASDAQ: SCUR) that develops and sells computer security products, such as:
  • Firewalls including Sidewinder, SnapGear and CyberGuard TSP
 Corporation warns that organizations that have installed their BlackBerry server behind their gateway security devices could be subject to a hacking attack when security researcher Jesse D'Aguanno is scheduled to release the code for his BlackBerry hack next week.

The soon to be released hacking program called BBProxy can be installed on a BlackBerry or sent as an e-mail attachment A file that rides along with an e-mail message. The attached file can be of any type. E-mail programs make it easy to attach a file. For example, in Eudora, all you do is select Attach from the Message menu, browse through the folder hierarchy to find the file you want and then double  to an unsuspecting user. Once installed, BBProxy opens a back channel bypassing the organization's gateway security mechanisms between the hacker and the inside of the victims' network.
