Sectra Displays Products for Secure Tele, Data and Radio Communications.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 4, 2000

Sectra, which delivers about 85% of the cryptographic equipment used by the Swedish Armed Forces The Swedish Armed Forces (Swedish: Försvarsmakten), is a Government agency responsible for the peacetime operation of the armed forces of Sweden. , is participating in the MILINF 2000 fair in Enkoping, Sweden, September 5-7. Products being shown include the world's first eavesdrop-secure GSM telephone, the Sectra Tiger, and broadband encryption for datacom and telecom currently being used to secure communications in the Armed Forces' telecom network.

Sectra has been cooperating closely with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (Försvarets materielverk, FMV) is a Swedish government agency that reports to the Ministry of Defence. The agency is responsible for the supply of materiel to the Swedish defence organisation. It is located in Stockholm.  (FMV FMV - full-motion video ) since the late 1980s in the new development of cryptographic equipment and currently accounts for about 85% of the advanced security systems procured by the Swedish Armed Forces.

"Our aim in cooperation with FMV is to develop solutions that meet the high demands for security and user-friendliness that the Swedish Armed Forces demands in conjunction with investments in efficiency enhancing IT systems."

Items being displayed by Sectra at the fair include broadband encryption for datacom and telecom that is currently being used to protect communications in the Armed Forces' telecom network (PPK Noun 1. PPK - a Marxist-Leninist terrorist group of Kurds trying to establish an independent Kurdish state in eastern Turkey
Kurdistan Labor Pary, Kurdistan Workers Party, Partiya Karkeran Kurdistan
 530 for router security and FKK FKK Freikörper-Kultur (German: free body culture; naturism/nudism)  520 for high-speed encryption with ADMs), and security architecture for networked computers (LWK LWK Shetland Islands /Shetland Isd, Scotland, United Kingdom - Tingwall (Airport Code)  for LAN/WAN LAN/WAN Local Area Network/Wide Area Network  encryption). The LWK architecture ensures secure information, from sender to receiver.

There will also be an opportunity to test the eavesdrop-secure Sectra Tiger telephone, the world's first GSM phone that meets the market's highest demands for secure communications. The Norwegian Armed Forces have ordered a new generation of Tiger and a commercial version has been ordered by several companies in the private sector.

Sectra will also be showing the complete Air Surveillance and Warning system, designated LuLIS, which is a digital radio information system where information on the current air status is transmitted in real time and can be received where standard FM radio can be used. FMV uses LuLIS for service in anti-aircraft batteries and the system is also used by marine units and airfields for air-raid warning and alarming of objects. LuLIS 2, with new functions, was introduced this year.
