Pankraton is a stand-up fighting Stand-up fighting (sometimes referred to simply as "stand-up") is hand-to-hand combat which takes place while the combatants are in a standing position. The term is commonly used in martial arts and combat sports to designate the set of techniques employed from a standing  style that involves punishing locks and ground skills combined into a brutal (and potentially lethal) martial art martial art

Any of several arts of combat and self-defense that are widely practiced as sport. There are armed and unarmed varieties, most based on traditional fighting methods used in East Asia.
. "Secrets Of Pankration" features Jim Arvanitis demonstrating a series of 'ano' (or standing) arsenal of punches, kicks, elbow strikes, shoots, takedowns, clinching techniques, throws, and sweeps. Considered by many to be the 'father' of Modern Pankraton, Arvantis goes on to demonstrate 'kato' or ground fighting skills that include pins, holds, chokes, submission locks, and defenses against a mounted striker. "Secrets Of Pankraton concludes with Arvantis putting 'ano' and 'kato' together and provides step-by-step instruction on performing counter throws and holds, gaining top position from the bottom, maintaining top control, and executing compound attacks compelling a rapid submission on the part of an opponent. With a 350 minute running time, "Secrets of Pankraton" is a strongly recommended and full color DVD DVD: see digital versatile disc.
