Secretary Snow speaks to council--praises financial literacy, addresses Social Security.

Raising levels of financial literacy is now a focus of government programmes in countries including[1] Australia, Japan, the United States and the UK.  among Americans and Social Security reform.

"Treasury's Office of Financial Education is delighted to be working with AICPA on national financial education efforts; our partnership is very important to the young people who will benefit from those efforts.

"Another issue related to helping young Americans see a brighter financial future is Social Security reform," he continued. "As the President has said, it is time to modernize mod·ern·ize

The AICPA earlier this year released a comprehensive analysis of the factors that should be taken into account for Social Security reform. With this report, titled Understanding Social Security: The Issues and Alternatives, the Institute urges that before anyone takes a position, policymakers and the public should acquire a clear understanding of the economic and social ramifications ramifications nplAuswirkungen pl  affecting reform.
