Seattle Mayor Declares October 8 Deloitte Impact Day Friday.


SEATTLE -- Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels Gregory J. "Greg" Nickels (born August 7, 1955) became the 51st and current mayor of Seattle, Washington on January 1, 2002. He was elected to a second term November 8, 2005.  thanks Sheryl Hildebrand, Seattle Managing Partner for Deloitte & Touche USA LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol , as the two launch Deloitte Impact Day 2004 during opening ceremonies held at Qwest Field Coordinates:

 this morning. During the ceremonies, the Mayor issued a proclamation that October 8 was officially Impact Day.

More than 400 Seattle Deloitte practitioners, along with Deloitte Chairman of the Board Sharon L. Allen, joined colleagues from across the country to make an impact at hundreds of work sites nationwide. Deloitte encouraged its people to set aside work for the day to volunteer to support non-profit community activities.

In cooperation with the United Way of King County, Deloitte's Seattle volunteers worked with five non-profit organizations today including EarthCorps, which promotes environmental rehabilitation work, and Operation Sack Lunch where volunteers prepared food for the homeless. Deloitte Impact Day also brought volunteers to The Giving Tree to create handcrafted hand·craft

 wooden toys to benefit homeless and low-income children, and to Seattle Youth Garden Works Seattle Youth Garden Works, a non-profit organization in Seattle, Washington, USA, empowers homeless and under-served youth. SYGW was founded in 1995 by Margaret Hauptman.  and the American Heart Walk activities.
