Sealevel Systems Introduces New SeaI/O Multifunction Analog and Digital Combo Module.

LIBERTY, S.C. -- Sealevel Systems, Inc. announces the expansion of the SeaI/O family of data acquisition devices with the introduction of the SeaI/O-470 multifunction module. Offering a powerful combination of analog and digital I/O (Input/Output) The transfer of data between the CPU and a peripheral device. Every transfer is an output from one device and an input to another. See PC input/output.

, SeaI/O-470 modules are perfect for a wide variety of applications including process control, data acquisition, broadcast automation, security, and facility management.

The SeaI/O-470 provides 16 single-ended or eight differential 12-bit analog inputs, two 12-bit D/A D/A

inputs are independently software selectable for 0-5V, 0-10V, +/-5V, and +/-10V ranges and can be configured for measuring 0-20mA current loop. The A/D channels feature 5MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  bandwidth track/hold and 100ksps throughput. The module's D/A channels are independently jumper selectable for 0-5V or 0-10V output range. Eight digital inputs are rated for 5-30VDC VDC Volts Direct Current

and provide 300V external isolation, while the SeaI/O-470's eight open collector outputs are ideal for switching 24V devices commonly found in industrial control applications.

Ordering options allow connection to a host device via Ethernet (Modbus TCP (1) (Transmission Control Protocol) The reliable transport protocol within the TCP/IP protocol suite. TCP ensures that all data arrive accurately and 100% intact at the other end. ), RS-485 (Modbus RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) A device that collects data from data acquisition equipment and sends them to the main system over a wired or wireless network. , or RS-232. Field removable terminal blocks are standard, facilitating fast, flexible field wiring. SeaI/O modules operate from 9-30VDC, and power can be input via terminal block or DC jack. Both table mount and DIN rail mounting options are available, and installation is made easy using Sealevel's software configuration tools.

A variety of SeaI/O expansion modules are available offering Reed and Form C relays, optically isolated inputs, TTL (1) (Time To Live) A parameter in a network packet that sets a time limit to its validity. In order to prevent an IP packet from propagating endlessly through the network, the value in the TTL field is reduced by each router.  interface to industry standard solid-state relay racks, A/D and D/A functionality. Multiple units of any I/O type can be easily daisy chained together using convenient pass-through connectors. This expansion capability enables a distributed network to be controlled with even a traditional point-to-point USB or RS-232 host connection. For easy software integration, application programs or 3rd party software can use Sealevel's SeaMAX library or industry standard Modbus protocol.

Standard operating temperature range of SeaI/O modules is 0(degree)C to 70(degree)C and extended temperature range (-40(degree)C to +85(degree)C) is optional. SeaI/O-470 prices start at $469 and product is available immediately from stock.

Incorporated in 1986, Sealevel Systems manufactures I/O products to serve customers' serial and digital interface requirements. Currently offering over 250 standard products, Sealevel offers high reliability and a commitment to customer satisfaction that is demonstrated by the Lifetime Warranty that is standard with all Sealevel manufactured I/O products.
