Sealevel Systems, Inc. Introduces Industry-First RoHS-Compliant Low Profile PCI Digital I/O Board.

LIBERTY, S.C. -- Sealevel Systems, Inc. announces the first RoHS-compliant low profile PCI (1) (Payment Card Industry) See PCI DSS.

(2) (Peripheral Component Interconnect) The most widely used I/O bus (peripheral bus).
digital I/O (Input/Output) The transfer of data between the CPU and a peripheral device. Every transfer is an output from one device and an input to another. See PC input/output.

. The board offers easy connection to industry-standard solid-state relay racks for monitoring and control of AC and DC signals. Designed for compatibility with legacy and new computer systems, the board is MD1 low profile and universal bus compatible (3.3V or 5V). The PIO-24.LPCI is the first in a series of forthcoming RoHS-compliant digital I/O product introductions as Sealevel embraces this important environmental initiative.

Sealevel is proactively leading the industry in the development of innovative communications and I/O products that meet the RoHS (2002/95/EC) and WEEE WEEE Waste from Electric and Electronic Equipment (directive)

(2002/96/EC) directives adopted by the European Union European Union (EU), name given since the ratification (Nov., 1993) of the Treaty of European Union, or Maastricht Treaty, to the

. The RoHS directive restricts the use of lead and certain other hazardous materials in electronic products. Sealevel designs all new products for RoHS process compatibility and is modifying legacy products and manufacturing processes for RoHS compliance. The Company will continue to offer both RoHS-compliant and noncompliant products to meet global and domestic customer demand.

The PIO-24.LPCI provides 24 channels of TTL (1) (Time To Live) A parameter in a network packet that sets a time limit to its validity. In order to prevent an IP packet from propagating endlessly through the network, the value in the TTL field is reduced by each router.  I/O selectable as inputs or outputs in eight-bit groups. Each of the groups can be configured to generate an interrupt for status monitoring applications. The board's low profile form factor is especially useful in applications where space is at a premium such as 1U Servers, Thin Clients, and Net Appliance See Internet appliance and network appliance.  applications. The PIO-24.LPCI ships with a 40" ribbon cable that terminates to a 50-pin IDC connector compatible with most solid-state relay racks.

The RoHS-compliant PIO-24.LPCI, product number 8018-RoHS, is available immediately from stock. Price is $219.00 in low volume quantities and a non-RoHS version, product number 8018, is also available.
