Seahawk Minerals Announces Management Appointment.

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2001

Seahawk Minerals Ltd. (CDNX:SKM.) today announced the appointment of Mr. Louis A. Lepry, Jr. to the position of President.

Mr. Lepry, a geologist, has been with the Company since late-1999 as Vice President - Corporate Development.

Prior to joining Seahawk, Mr. Lepry was President of Metallica Resources and has over 20 years of experience in the international mining industry.

Seahawk's founder, President and CEO, Mr. Christopher W. Taylor, has resigned his positions with the Company, and has stepped down from the Company's Board of Directors for personal and family reasons. The Company wishes to thank Mr. Taylor for the leadership and vision that he demonstrated in building Seahawk. Mr. Taylor will continue to assist the Company as needed to facilitate the ongoing development of Seahawk's emerald mining operations.

Mr. Taylor stated that "Over the past couple of years, Lou has demonstrated a strong commitment to the Company and its gemstone assets, and I am confident that he will serve Seahawk well as the Piteiras emerald mine moves toward commercial production."
