plaza, 375 Park Ave., with a free, open-to-the-public concert by soprano saxophonist Steve Lacy on Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m.

The 32-foot high black and yellow painted aluminum sculpture was installed on the Seagram Building's plaza in September, and both the Gagosian Gallery, which helped arranged the installation in conjunction with the Estate of Roy Lichtenstein, and RFR Holding LLC, the owner of the Seagram Building, have decided to hold a formal event to introduce the sculpture to the public. Contemporary jazz saxophonist Steve Lacy will perform his composition "From Stroke to Stroke" in honor of the installation.

"We are delighted to host this free concert at the Seagram Building to celebrate 'Brushstroke' and art itself," said Aby Rosen, principal of RFR Holding. "When RFR acquired this building, one of our goals was to restore its history as a prime location for art exhibition."

"Brushstroke" was one of the last sculptures completed by Roy Lichtenstein shortly before his death in 1997. The sculpture will be on display at the Seagram Building plaza through Spring 2002.

The 820,000-SF Seagram Building has a tenant roster worthy of its location and history, including Universal/Vivendi, NASCAR NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing), organization that sanctions American stock-car races, est. 1948. It held its first race in Daytona Beach, Fla. , Fiat USA, Inc., and the famous Four Seasons Restaurant.
