ST. LOUIS -- Scottrade, a leading branch-supported online investment firm, today announced the launch of a new Quotes and Research section within its main Trading Web Site. This new section doubles the amount of stock research and includes a new Exchange Traded Fund Exchange Traded Fund

Similar to an index mutual fund, these tracking stocks trade continuously. Two popular ETFs are the Standard and Poor's depositary receipt (SPDR) launched in 1993 and the NASDAQ-100 Index Tracking Stock (QQQ) which was launched in 1999.
 (ETF) Center to help individual investors make smarter and faster decisions.

* Financial Analysis Made Easy with SmartText[R]

SmartText[R] interprets the technical analysis studies on Scottrade's main Trading Web Site in plain English Plain English (sometimes known, more broadly, as plain language) is a communication style that focuses on considering the audience's needs when writing. It recommends avoiding unnecessary words and avoiding jargon, technical terms, and long and ambiguous sentences. , making it easier for investors to act on the information that Scottrade provides.

* Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) Center with Lipper Leader[R] Scorecard

Typically, ETFs try to replicate a stock market index such as the S&P 500 (e.g.  (ETF) into one section to support the growing popularity of these investments, Scottrade customers can customize their ETF criteria and get results in real time using new and fully-customizable ETF screeners.

Lipper Leader research has also been built into the ETF center. This is a scorecard that allows investors to view a third-party source score to see how a particular ETF compares against other ETFs.

* Insider Transaction Predictive Score

The upgraded site also has an insider transaction section from Thomson Financial Thomson Financial

A major provider of information, analytical tools, and consulting services to the financial community. The firm, a division of Thomson Corporation, is best known to investors for its First Call segment, which publishes consensus earnings
 that identifies insiders (company executives and/or board members) who buy or sell their company's stock and then uses a comparative proprietary performance ranking for each insider based on the stock's performance after the trades. Scottrade customers can use these scores to assist them in making decisions and finding opportunities.
