Rosenblatt is known for her quick, clear narration. Her voice is a perfect match for the main character, Cate Fante, a newly appointed federal judge who begins the book presiding pre·side

She loses her judgeship, which makes her determined to find out what really happened and to get her job back.

While there are enough holes in the story to make any lover of mysteries wince and the ending comes from nowhere, the story is suspenseful sus·pense
