Paperboard is a paper based material. It is often used for folding cartons, set-up boxes, carded packaging, etc. ; plot, author notes. A Rosenblatt is known for her quick, clear narration. Her voice is a perfect match for the main character, Cate Fante, a newly appointed federal judge who begins the book presiding pre·side intr.v. pre·sid·ed, pre·sid·ing, pre·sides 1. To hold the position of authority; act as chairperson or president. 2. To possess or exercise authority or control. 3. over a case involving a Hollywood producer who is accused of stealing an idea for his popular legal crime series. After the verdict, it appears that the defendant in the case killed the producer and then himself. Cate's private life (she has been picking up guys in bars for quick sex) is also exposed. She loses her judgeship, which makes her determined to find out what really happened and to get her job back. While there are enough holes in the story to make any lover of mysteries wince and the ending comes from nowhere, the story is suspenseful sus·pense n. 1.
