Scottish and Southern Selects Bowne Global Solutions for Critical Power Plant Documentation Solutions.

Bowne Global Solutions (BGS) today announced that it has been awarded a significant contract by Scottish and Southern Energy plc.

Under the terms of the contract, BGS, the world's leading provider of globalization, localization and technical writing services, will provide an update of Scottish and Southern Energy's original plant schematics handbook and a new plant schematics handbook for the re-powering project at the flagship Peterhead Power Station, in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

BGS won the contract because of its recognized ability to provide operating and maintenance documentation solutions for complex power generating plants within established project parameters.

Peterhead Power Station, built in the mid 1970s, is a dual fuel plant comprising two GEC 660MW steam turbines with steam raising plant. The re-powering of one unit changed the configuration to a combined cycle gas turbine plant comprising three Siemens 94.3 gas turbines with three HRSGs providing steam to the original steam turbine. The new configuration provides highly efficient and flexible operation with low NOX emissions.
