Scitex Digital Video Unveils Sphere Sport.

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 1998--

Powerful New Software Manages Feeds And Streamlines

The Creation Of Highlight Packages For News And Sports

Scitex Digital Video is introducing SPORT(TM) software for its Sphere(TM) family of nonlinear A system in which the output is not a uniform relationship to the input.

 finishing systems.

Designed expressly for broadcasters, SPORT facilitates recording and management of multiple feeds, and it provides for fast creation of news and sports highlight packages. The new SPORT option, which can be used with standalone or networked Sphere systems, is available for immediate shipment.

"Sphere SPORT makes it easy to work with satellite feeds and gather material for local news programs and highlights packages," says Scitex DV Director of Marketing Stuart English. "The demand for news and sports packages A sports package is a set of cosmetic and functional enhancements to a vehicle, sold and priced as a unit.

In an SUV or light truck this may include special racks or tiedowns for transport of off road recreational vehicles and other equipment.
is on the rise, and SPORT can help a wide range of broadcasters, from networks to local cable operators, meet this demand."

The SPORT software's `Live Loop Record' feature enables a Sphere system (or systems) to record feeds and mark selected footage from satellite or other live sources; one Sphere Media Processor(TM) and one StorageDock(TM) are required for each source. In single system installations, a VideoSphere(TM) or StrataSphere(TM) can capture, mark and edit footage.

In networked configurations, dedicated DigiSphere(TM) stations can record, mark and transfer footage to a full-blown VideoSphere or StrataSphere for editing. The SPORT operator can set a mark while an exciting play or event is underway, and SPORT will create a clip with user-designated handles before and after the mark, to capture the beginning and the end of the desired sequence.

Sphere systems feature voiceover recording with simultaneous program playback, for fast and foolproof recording of narrations.

U.S. list price for SPORT is $6,250. For international pricing, please contact proutyt@scitexdv.com. -0-
