Science and design.

Concerning Jodie Gilmore's article "Man of Science and of God" (January 26 issue), it appears that George Washington Carver is in good company. Signs of Intelligence (edited by Dembski and Kushiner) presents 14 essays by university professors in the growing intelligent design movement. "From fossil records to the irreducible complexity

Everywhere we look, in a telescope or microscope, we find evidence of intelligent design. The universe is expanding at exactly the right speed. A little taster taster /tast·er/ (tas´ter) an individual capable of tasting a particular test substance (e.g., phenylthiourea, used in genetic studies).  or slower and life would not be possible here on earth. A living cell, so small that it takes powerful micro scopes to see, is so complex that removing just one small part would make the cell useless. I can't help but wonder if God in His love and mercy has thrown a lifeline to people who firmly believe that the universe is totally materialistic (either energy or matter with no spiritual dimension) by allowing scientific evidence of His existence.
