is being awarded a $10,223,872 modification to a cost-plus fixed-fee,
level of effort contract, for support of the Global Hawk Unmanned Aerial
Vehicle A powered, aerial vehicle that does not carry a human operator, uses aerodynamic forces to provide vehicle lift, can fly autonomously or be piloted remotely, can be expendable or recoverable, and can carry a lethal or nonlethal payload. (UAV) in the areas of analyses, requirements definitions,
systems engineering, payloads and sensors, software processes and
quality assurance, test planning and execution, data collection and
analysis, performance assessment and modeling, development and
data/image dissemination. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif.,
and is expected to be completed by Dec. 15, 2004. Contract funds will
not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were electronic
bids solicited and two bids were received. The U.S. Army Space and
