Schreiber Foods Inc. will manufacture and distribute the alternative dairy products of Galaxy Nutritional Foods Inc. under an agreement the companies announced. Under the agreement, Schreiber Foods will acquire Galaxy's plants and related operations. The company will make Galaxy's plant-based alternative dairy products for five years beginning in September. Galaxy serves retailers and institutional clients. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The agreement requires approval by Galaxy's shareholders and primary lenders. It is expected to close by November. Schreiber Foods is a privately held manufacturer of processed and natural cheese, and prepared entrees to the foodservice and retail markets. Its products are primarily sold through private-label distribution programs.
