School-Link Technologies Becomes First in School Foodservice Industry to Gain Full CISP Security Certification from VISA(R).

Payment Processing, Inc. Guides myLunchMoney.com Through Rigorous PCI Certification Process to Gain Acceptance as VISA CISP-Compliant Service Provider

SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- School-Link Technologies (SL-Tech), the nation's leading provider of technology solutions for school foodservice programs, today announced that they are the first such company to achieve full CISP compliancy from VISA International. This PCI certification is for myLunchMoney.com, SL-Tech's online payment system for school lunch programs, and means SL-Tech joins an elite group of vendors who are listed by VISA as CISP-compliant service providers (see www.visa.com/cisp).

The VISA Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) defines the highest standards for securing cardholder data. To become CISP-compliant, ecommerce businesses must meet rigorous data security standards and requirements established by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council. The certification applies to all major payment card brands, including VISA, MasterCard[R], American Express[R], Discover[R] and JCB[R].

"Providing end-to-end security for our customers is of paramount importance to SL-Tech, and becoming a CISP-compliant service provider helps assure parents that their credit card information, and their children's school records, are protected," said Chip Goodman, CEO of SL-Tech.

Always mindful of security issues, SL-Tech built the myLunchMoney.com platform fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Family Educational Rights and Protection Act (FERPA). Together with the Schools Interoperability Framework Association (SIFA), SL-Tech has led the development and implementation of XML based secure data exchange standards, enabling SL-Tech to extend its secure online payment services to other SIF compliant school foodservice systems.

With payment data security breaches in the news, achieving PCI compliancy became the company's highest priority. "There are numerous top-level requirements to become CISP compliant; fortunately, our long-time payment partner, Payment Processing, Inc. (PPI), offers extensive compliancy assistance services. The expertise and due diligence provided by the PPI Developer Services team meant that we were able to prepare for and successfully validate our compliance audit with a qualified security assessor and achieve the highest level of compliance," continued Goodman.

"PPI commends the SL-Tech team on their benchmark certification achievement," said Chuck Smith, CEO of PPI. "As the leader in PCI-DSS developer compliancy services, we recognize how difficult it is to meet the standards VISA has set forth."
