School board pushing undefined 'gay' diversity?

Peterborough, ON -- The Peterborough Examiner The Peterborough Examiner is a newspaper that services Peterborough, Ontario and area. The paper started circulation in 1847, and is currently owned by the Osprey Media Group. At one time, it was edited by Canadian man of letters Robertson Davies.  reported on October 25, 2006 that Catholic school trustees "grappl[ed] with an equity and diversity policy at last night's board meeting," but the meaning of the term "diversity" was left undefined. Fr. Leo Leo, in astronomy
Leo [Lat.,=the lion], northern constellation lying S of Ursa Major and on the ecliptic (apparent path of the sun through the heavens) between Cancer and Virgo; it is one of the constellations of the zodiac.
Coughlin, faith animator for the board, reportedly advocated "the need for Catholic educators and administrators to embrace a more inclusive world view"--but his proposed new "policy would replace an existing anti-racism and ethnocultural policy." The reader is neither told what is deemed lacking in the old policy, nor informed of who or what is to be newly embraced.

The new draft proposal is being shielded from public view while a legal opinion is sought. But Catholic Insight obtained a copy of the 1995 "Antiracism and Ethnocultural Equity" policy, which appears to have planted the seed for an inappropriate future paradigm shift A dramatic change in methodology or practice. It often refers to a major change in thinking and planning, which ultimately changes the way projects are implemented. For example, accessing applications and data from the Web instead of from local servers is a paradigm shift. See paradigm. . Among the board's resolutions then was the determination to:

"ensure that every employee, volunteer and student in the workplace and school setting is free from harassment based on race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship of creed. (We acknowledge that the following conditions do not properly fall under the heading 'Antiracism and Ethnocultural Equity'; however, until a policy is developed to cover them, we add this to the above statement:

"... and ensure that every employee, volunteer and student in the workplace and school setting is free from harassment based on age, family status, marital status marital status,
n the legal standing of a person in regard to his or her marriage state.
, disability, sex, sexual orientation sexual orientation
n.
The direction of one's sexual interest toward members of the same, opposite, or both sexes, especially a direction seen to be dictated by physiologic rather than sociologic forces.
, record of offense or employment status.') [our emphasis]."

Comment: Conventional wisdom has it that accepting 'sexual orientation' includes approving of 'gay' behaviour--and that teaching Judaeo-Christian beliefs comprises 'hatred.' Has the time now come when the board will formally reject Catholic anthropology and become "inclusive" of sexual immorality Noun 1. sexual immorality - the evil ascribed to sexual acts that violate social conventions; "sexual immorality is the major reason for last year's record number of abortions"
evil, wickedness, immorality, iniquity - morally objectionable behavior
? All hands everybody; all parties.
