School Districts in New York, Pennsylvania, Maine & Kentucky Begin Deploying Ardence Software-Streaming Platform.

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Ardence, Inc., whose award-winning software enables breakthrough IT-management and user benefits, said today that school districts in four states have adopted the Ardence Software-Streaming Platform, which enables on-demand streaming of both applications and operating systems from networked storage.

Ardence said districts in New York, Pennsylvania, Maine and Kentucky are deploying Ardence software on desktops in classrooms, in computer labs, and in school libraries, in an effort to deliver dependable, centrally managed technology while lowering their costs.

Raymond Berrott, Director of Technology at the Upper St. Clair School District in suburban Pittsburgh, which began an Ardence rollout this school year after piloting the software during the Spring and Summer, said, "Ardence is a solution that allows us to do more with less. It lowers our costs at time of purchase and significantly lowers our ongoing management costs. Being able to buy more for less, manage it more efficiently and have it last longer really fits our budget needs."

In addition to Upper St. Clair, Ardence said that the other districts that have begun deploying Ardence include, School Administration District 71 in Kennebunkport, ME; the Woodford County Schools in Kentucky and the Mt. Sinai School District in New York.

Tuttle also said that Ardence increases the district's ability to be more flexible in delivering technology. "Because we can configure our labs in different ways more quickly with Ardence, it gives us more instructional options and that's another big plus," said Tuttle.

Sharon Betts, Director of Educational Technology at School Administration District 71 in Kennebunkport, ME, said, "Like most states, Maine schools are in a budget crunch and in terms of technology delivery to our students we're seeing that Ardence is helping us lower costs and increasing dependability of our PCs. We like Ardence's performance thus far and over the course of the year we anticipate a major drop in our trouble tickets because of it."

Ken Jockers of Mt. Sinai, NY, School District on Long Island said Ardence has eliminated a lot of day-to-day IT troubleshooting and increasing the district's flexibility in the way PCs are used.
