 program has brought recognition and encouragement to countless young artists. Richard Avedon, Paul Davis, Robert Indiana and Philip Pearlstein are among the alumni of the Scholastic Art Awards.

This year, over 200,000 entries were submitted in fourteen media categories in sixty-eight regions across the country. More than 20,000 entries won finalist awards. The finalist entries were forwarded to New York City New York City: see New York, city.
