The Foundation awarded $80,000 in grants to physical therapists for research projects that will take place in the 2001 calendar year. Two 1-year research grants of $40,000 each were awarded to fund research projects to evaluate the effectiveness of physical therapist interventions. One hundred and twenty people requested applications since the Foundation announced the grant topics last March. Fifteen proposals were submitted by the August 18 deadline.
