Promotion of Doctoral Studies (PODS PODS Principles Of Database Systems PODS Portable on Demand Storage PODS Palm OS Developer Suite PODS Pipeline Open Data Standard (pipeline GIS data model developed by Gas Research Institute) PODS Passive Occupant Detection System ) There are two opportunities to receive scholarships in the PODS program. PODS I--Scholarships fund students who have completed at least 2 full semesters or 2 full quarters of their course work toward a doctorate. Candidates selected receive up $7,500. PODS II--Scholarships fund students who have been formally admitted to candidacy. Candidates selected can receive up to $15,000. Applicants for PODS I and PODS II scholarships may be either full-time or part-time students. New Investigator Certain scientific funding agencies make a distinction between investigators and new investigators. New investigators would be evaluated in a different way when competing for funding with more seasoned researchers, or they would be able to access funding resources specific to them. Fellowship fellowship Graduate education A post-residency training period of 1–2 yrs in a subspecialty–eg, hand surgery, which allows a specialized physician to develop a particular expertise that may have a related subspecialty board; fellowship time is often Training Initiative (NIFTI NIFTI Navy Infrared Thermal Imager (US Navy) NIFTI Network Interface File and Tracking Information NIFTI Network Interface to File Transfer in the Internet ) NIFTI fellowships provide funding to physical therapists who have completed their doctorate in the previous 5 years, or physical therapists with doctorates who have completed their professional education within the past 5 years.
