Schlage's new AL-Series Keyed Levers Loaded With Reinforcing Components, patent-pending technology.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 1995--Schlage Lock Company, the nation's leader in commercial locks, introduced today a new series of standard-duty, keyed levers engineered to raise the industry standard for strength, durability and styling of keyed lever locksets.

The new AL-Series features several strengthening components -- such as a stainless steel stainless steel: see steel.
stainless steel

Any of a family of alloy steels usually containing 10–30% chromium. The presence of chromium, together with low carbon content, gives remarkable resistance to corrosion and heat.
interlocking interlocking /in·ter·lock·ing/ (-lok´ing) closely joined, as by hooks or dovetails; locking into one another.

spindle -- that reinforce the lever against attack. The AL-Series, which comes in three lever styles, is designed for Grade 2 applications in office, medical, hotel/motel, retail, government and commercial facilities.

The AL-Series standard-duty keyed levers have threaded hubs and locking nuts that literally bolt the lock chassis to the door to prevent loosening. The heavy duty spring cages have true through-bolting outside the standard 2 1\8" door preparation -- keeping the lock chassis from rotating inside the door and disengaging dis·en·gage

The new levers also incorporate a pending Schlage-patent door range adjuster which provides quick and easy adjusting for different door thicknesses.

"The AL-Series completes the family of Schlage commercial grade keyed levers," said Martin Burkhardt, Schlage Commercial marketing manager. "Together with our Grade-1, L-Series mortise and D-Series cylindrical locksets, the AL-Series provides the best selection of performance features for any commercial facility."

The AL-Series is available in a variety of functions, designs and popular finishes. Three lever styles are available -- Jupiter, Neptune and Saturn. The Saturn style also offers interchangeable cores. The seven finishes available are: bright-, satin-, and blackened black·en
