Schein Pharmaceutical announces color caps for two ophthalmic solutions.


FLORHAM PARK, N.J.--(HealthWire)--March 1, 1996--Schein Pharmaceutical Inc. today announced that both Dipivefrin Hydrochloride di·piv·e·frin hydrochloride

An ophthalmic adrenergic that is used in drop form in the initial therapy for controlling intraocular pressure in chronic open-angle glaucoma.
 0.1%, and Levobunolol Hydrochloride le·vo·bu·no·lol hydrochloride
n.
A beta-blocker administered as eyedrops for the treatment of chronic open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension.
 0.25% and 0.5% Ophthalmic Solutions ophthalmic solution
n.
A sterile solution that is free from foreign particles and is compounded and dispensed for eyedrops.
 are now available with color caps.

The new caps are the same color as Allergan's Propine(R) and Betagan(R), their brand comparisons.

The Schein color caps are:

Dipivefrin HCI (Human Computer Interaction) Refers to the design and implementation of computer systems that people interact with. It includes desktop systems as well as embedded systems in all kinds of devices.  Ophthalmic Solution, 0.1% -- Purple

Levobunolol HCI Ophthalmic Solution, 0.25% -- Blue

Levobunolol HCI Ophthalmic Solution, 0.5% -- Yellow.

Color caps can help prevent potentially serious consequences, such as harmful drug interactions, by enabling patients to distinguish one medication from another, particularly useful when bottle shapes and sizes are similar.
