The indexes are falling. At last check, the SPX was down 12 points and only 11 percent of the index's components had managed to prop themselves higher on the day.

There now appears to be support at the five level. News of falling oil prices is perhaps keeping the sector safe for the time being. Remarkably, 50 now looks to be a support level for oil futures for May delivery.

The pharmas have not had an easy time of late, after recent, heavily publicized product withdrawals. But Wyeth Laboratories (NYSE: WYE) is a big winner in the S&P Index today, buoyed higher by news of strong sales of its anti-inflammatory drug Enbrel, its vaccine Prevnar, and its antidepressant antidepressant, any of a wide range of drugs used to treat psychic depression. They are given to elevate mood, counter suicidal thoughts, and increase the effectiveness of psychotherapy.  Effexor. WYE has been in somewhat of an uptrend uptrend

since early February, and might be a stock to watch. The stock enjoys strong support at its 10-day trendline.

Compuware (NASDAQ: CPWR) fell dramatically today. The Michigan-based software sage announced that it expects to report fourth-quarter earnings of six to eight cents per share on revenue of about $316 million. Analysts had been hoping for 13 cents per share, roughly double CPWR's prediction. The stock had been under resistance from its descending 10-week moving average. Now it is testing the support of the 10-month moving average.

Harley-Davidson (NYSE: HDI) reported first-quarter earnings of $227.2 million, or 77 cents per share, a penny better than the consensus estimate. But the company also slashed its 2005 earnings guidance and said that it may not reach its goal of 400,000 units for 2007. In response, HDI was the biggest loser, down almost 17 percent at the time we compiled our figures.

And finally... The intriguingly named, Nashville-based Louisiana-Pacific (NYSE: LPX) was cut by Prudential to "neutral" from "overweight" today, and the stock lost more than four percent of its value at last check, with historical support at the 22 level propping up the price.
