9:54 AM Dynamic Materials Explodes Higher on Positive Earnings Report

Dynamic Materials (NASDAQ:BOOM) reported fourth-quarter earnings this morning before the opening bell. It was an impressive report. BOOM booked a profit of 28 cents per share Cents per share

, four cents better than the single estimate of 24 cents. Revenues rose 16.0 percent year-over-year to $23.2 million versus the $21.3 million estimate. Robust order volume during the month of December pushed the backlog far beyond the previous all-time high. The company also declared an annual cash dividend of 15 cents per share, which represents a 50-percent increase from the dividend paid last year. Something else that may help the stock today: 44 percent of BOOM's float is sold short, creating the possibility of a short-covering rally. After opening more than 11 percent higher, BOOM shares have climbed to $34.51, up 12.7 percent.

11:33 AM Google Gets Smacked After CFO See Chief Financial Officer.  Comments

Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) is taking a big hit this morning after some choice comments by the CFO that lead investors to believe that growth at the Internet-search giant may be slowing. The broader equity markets followed suit as the Dow Jones Industrial Average Dow Jones Industrial Average

) dropped over 100 points to break below 11,000 briefly before rebounding back above that level. Other Internet companies such as Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) and Yahoo! (NASDAQ:YHOO) are also under pressure. GOOG is currently down $36, or nine percent. AMZN and YHOO are down 1.5 percent and 2.2 percent, respectively.

11:38 AM Nordson Makes an All-Time High

systems bond and seal plastic and wood products. The company reported stellar first-quarter earnings last night after the market closed. NDSN said it earned 51 cents per share, excluding four cents of expenses and charges. The result was eight cents better than the consensus estimate of 43 cents per share. The company's sales rose 3.8 percent year-over-year to $197.5 million versus an expected $195.5 million. NDSN is up more than six percent on the news. The stock has performed well in 2006, gaining more than 23 percent. From its August 2005 low near 32, the stock is up more than 55 percent.

12:09 PM Google Technicals

Continuing on from John's report about Google (GOOG) and the comments from their CFO, I thought I'd briefly comment on the intraday Intraday

Another way of saying "within the day."

Notes:
This term is often used for the new highs and lows of a security. For example, "a new intraday high" means a security reached a new all-time high throughout the trading day, but then fell by closing.
 price action.

The low of the day was $338.51, and the stock has rallied twenty points off this level to $358.26. What I find interesting about the intraday low is that it is the approximate site of the stock's mid-February low of $337.83. Also, potential options-related support comes in at the 340 strike, where there is put open interest of almost 11,000 contracts, with volume of almost 7,000 contracts today.

One final note: the shares are trading back above their 160-day moving average, which is currently situated around $356.
