9:43 AM NYSE and NASDAQ New High & Schaeffer's Equity Scorecard

In Monday's trading, there were 16 stocks on the NYSE and 35 stocks on the NASDAQ that achieved new annual highs. Below is a table of stocks from both exchanges that have Schaeffer's Equity Scorecard readings of seven or higher. Stocks to watch include Crescent Real Estate Equities (NYSE: CEI), which has a scorecard reading of 10 out of 10. MoneyGram International (MGI) could also make a good bullish play, with a scorecard reading of 8.5 out of 10. And Nasdaq Stock Market (NASDAQ: NDAQ) is still in the top three, with a reading of 8.0 out of 10.

10:22 AM Infosys Technologies Tops Earnings, Guides Higher

According to Yahoo!Finance, Infosys Technologies (NASDAQ: INFY) provides consulting and information technology services primarily in North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. The company's solutions include custom application development, maintenance and production support, software re-engineering, package evaluation and implementation, and information technology consulting.

This morning before the market open, INFY reported second-quarter earnings of 49 cents per share, three cents ahead of the Reuters consensus. INFY also guided earnings for the fourth quarter higher and now sees earnings of 53 cents per share versus the 50 cents consensus estimate. For fiscal 2006, the company sees earnings per share of $2.04 to $2.05 versus the $1.96 consensus estimate. This positive earnings event has pushed the shares above their short- and intermediate-term moving averages, a positive sign from a technical perspective. At last check, INFY was trading three percent higher to $75.08 today.

10:47 AM Apple Computer Set to Report Quarterly Earnings

Tonight after the market close, Apple Computer (NASDAQ: AAPL) will release its fourth-quarter earnings report, with analysts calling for earnings of 37 cents per share. AAPL has been a strong performer in the earnings confessional, topping estimates in each of the past four quarters. In addition to its fundamental strength, the stock has been a stellar technical performer. Over the past year, shares of AAPL have tacked on better than 160 percent.

Despite these encouraging factors, signs of skepticism remain in the stocks sentiment backdrop. Option players in particular are pessimistic. The current Schaeffer's put/call open interest ratio (SOIR) of 0.97 is higher than 96 percent of all readings taken over the past year. Its current Schaeffer's Equity Scorecard rating of 7.0 likely indicates further gains are in order for AAPL.

1:33 PM Optimism Toward Intel Continues

Shares of Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) continue to be viewed favorably by investors even though the stock has consistently failed to perform. The stock is up a whopping nickel today, yet options players are buying calls as if the stock is going to explode to the upside. Call volume today is more than double put volume, which was also the case yesterday. In fact, the number of call options outstanding on INTC is 2.5 times the number of put options. All this on a stock that has dropped nearly 20 percent since the middle of July. I wouldn't expect great things out of INTC anytime soon.
