Just a reminder that some of our material is available in audio form at http://www.schaeffersresearch.com/commentary/podcasts/. This morning's Opening View podcast included Autodesk (NASDAQ:ADSK), Pfizer (NYSE:PFE), and Pacific Sunwear (PSUN), plus news on Treasurys, bonds, currencies, gold and other metals, crude oil and other energy-related commodities, economic news, and CBOE CBOE See: Chicago Board Options Exchange CBOE See Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). statistics. 11:44 AM Intel Back Above Its 20-day Moving Average After Intel's (NASDAQ:INTC) fall on a disappointing earnings report back in January, shareholders have had little to cheer about. That is until now. Intel is currently rallying back above its 20-day moving average after seeing this trendline act as resistance a couple of times during the past few weeks. As far as the sentiment goes, the Schaeffer's put/call open interest ratio (SOIR SOIR Schaeffer's Put/Call Open Interest Ratio SOIR Simultaneous Operations on Intersecting Runways ) has been rising of late, as puts keep getting added faster than calls. The 20 level acted as support back in October 2004 and it looks as if it is trying to do so again. 1:51 PM GM Reports February Sales Numbers After a quick price jump ahead of the release of General Motors' (GM) February sales, the stock has fallen into negative territory. February sales at the ailing automotive giant fell 2.5 percent versus the Street expectation for a 1.3-percent sales increase. Expectations for GM are already quite low, and the real question right now is whether or not the company will be able to avoid bankruptcy. 2:21 PM More on Intel As Rick said earlier, Intel (INTC) is back above its 20-day moving average. Well, now that the stock is finally moving higher, it seems that options players want to bet on it to go back down. Put options on the chipmaker are running at twice the volume of call options right now. The Schaeffer's put/call open interest ratio (SOIR) on the equity has already been moving higher over the past couple of days. Perhaps an increase in pessimism will be able to continue to support the shares in the near-term. 2:59 PM Great Day to be a Semi Today is the complete opposite of yesterday, as the internals are very strong and volume is great as well. What I really like about today's action is the fact that the semi's are leading in a big way, as the Semiconductor HOLDRs Trust (SMH SMH Sydney Morning Herald (Australia) SMH St Michael's Hospital SMH Shaking My Head SMH Strong Memorial Hospital SMH Sanders Morris Harris Inc. SMH Screening for Mental Health, Inc. ) is up a huge four-percent. When the semi's lead the rest of the market, we have the makings of a lasting rally. Check out Diodes (NASDAQ:DIOD), OmniVision Technologies (NASDAQ:OVTI), and Microsemi (MSCC MSCC Motlow State Community College (Lynchburg, TN) MSCC Morgan Sports Car Club MSCC Manila Sports Car Club MSCC Mission Springs Community Church (Fremont, CA) MSCC Mazda Sports Car Club ) for some less-followed names that look really nice here.
