More than 7,000 contracts crossed the tape, with the most active being the February 10 strike (SQL NB). Investors exchanged nearly 6,900 SQL NB contracts yesterday. A check on today's open interest configuration reveals that about 5,550 of these contracts translated into new positions of open interest. A look at overall option activity on PMCS shows that the options crowd has a neutral view of the security. Today, PMCS is trading eight cents higher to $9.46. 11:52 AM Manitowoc Company Guides Higher According to Yahoo!Finance, Manitowoc Company (NYSE:MTW) engages in the manufacture and sale of cranes, foodservice equipment, and marine equipment worldwide. This morning before the market open, MTW guided its earnings outlook for fiscal 2005 and 2006 higher. At last check shares of MTW were trading 5.5 percent higher to $58.40 today. 2:03 PM Moody's Downgrades Ford Debt Moody's Investors Service cut its ratings on Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) deeper into junk territory Wednesday, saying the automaker may remain under stress through 2007 despite restructuring efforts. Moody's was the third major rating agency to cut F's rating within the past month. Moody's also cut its rating on F's finance arm, Ford Motor Credit, to junk status from investment grade. Moody's attributes the downgrades to loss of profit margins and a slowdown in sales of its large sport utility vehicles. Fierce competition with foreign automakers and high gasoline prices have taken their toll on F in the past year. Going forward, Moody's believes another downgrade might be in the cards if car sales continue to deteriorate. The above are just a few of today's Daily Market Blog entries.
