Upon Further Review:

Aeropostale: Aeropostale (NYSE:ARO) appears to be enjoying the benefits of strong technical support and a little short covering today. The company posted May same-store sales Same-store sales is a business term which refers to the revenue generated by one of a retail chain's specific outlets during a certain period of time (often a fiscal quarter or a particular shopping season), compared to an identical period in the past, usually in the previous year.  that missed the consensus estimate and yet the shares were up more than seven percent in early trading today. The equity is in the process of rebounding off former support/resistance at the 24 level. Furthermore, short sellers are feeling a little squeezed today and could be compelled to buy back some of their bearish Bearish

bets. As of the May short-interest report from the NYSE, roughly 3.7 million ARO shares were sold short, accounting for nearly seven percent of the stock's total float. A rush to close out these bearish bets in an effort to stem their losses could be adding some lift to the shares today.

Sun Microsystems: Usually, the announcement of job cuts in an effort to turn around a company's fundamental picture helps to lift a stock. Such is not the case for Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ:SUNW). At last check, SUNW was down more than five percent after it announced that it was trimming its workforce between 4,000 and 5,000 employees. However, today's pullback Pullback

looks like sellers are back in control of the shares. The stock gained nearly eight percent during the previous five trading sessions, but its recent rally was neatly capped by resistance at its 20-day moving average, indicating that SUNW's burst of strength has run out of steam. Furthermore, call open interest easily outnumbers put open interest on SUNW, showing that expectations for the shares are still rather high. Look for SUNW to pull back to former support in the 4.20-4.30 region as the bulls unload To remove a program from memory or take a tape or disk out of its drive.  their long positions in the face of increased selling pressure in hopes of finding greener pastures PASTURES, pastures. Target: Target (NYSE:TGT) is the victim of some staunch technical resistance today. The retailer reported strong May same-store sales that beat the Street estimate, while rival Wal-Mart Stores missed the consensus forecast yesterday and complained about the pinch of rising gas prices. You would expect TGT to rally today. And it did; straight into resistance at the 50 level. The round-number level promptly halted the stock's gains, which isn't too surprising considering that round-number levels are often reluctant to fall when approached by a stock. However, adding another layer of resistance to this region is that fact that the equity gapped to 50 on May 15 and has yet to successfully tackle this level.
