Street Chatter:

Sirius Satellite Radio: Sirius Satellite Radio (NASDAQ:SIRI) nearly found itself in serious trouble yesterday. Shares of the out-of-this-world radio firm slipped sharply toward the four level shortly after the open, but promptly rebounded higher. Providing the impetus for this resurgence is long-term support at the four level and a hefty buildup build·up also build-up

While the four strike is not the home of peak put open interest for this period, the more than 19,000 puts accumulated at the strike are certainly nothing to shake a stick at. That said, SIRI is not out of the woods yet, as its declining 10-day moving average could still provide quite an obstacle to overcome.

Another way of saying "within the day."

Notes:
This term is often used for the new highs and lows of a security. For example, "a new intraday high" means a security reached a new all-time high throughout the trading day, but then fell by closing.

Circuit City Stores: The shares of Circuit City Stores (NYSE:CC) accelerated sharply to the upside Upside

This is basically an educated guess on how high a stock could go in the near future.

of its sales expectations for 2007. While the news allowed the initial upside move, it appears that breaching peak call open interest for the front three months of options at the 30 level provided the additional fuel for CC to rally even higher. On intraday chart, you can see that the shares stalled for a bit after tagging the 30 region, but following the breach, CC rallied quite sharply higher. Following that breach, the stock pulled back a bit, mainly due to weakness in the broader market.

Hewlett-Packard: Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ) may have surged out of the gate yesterday following a solid earnings report, but the stock's advance was hampered by two factors. First, the security was immediately rejected by overhead resistance at its declining 10-day moving average. Following this rejection, HPQ retreated back below peak call open interest for the front three months at the 32.50 level. This tandem resistance could keep the stock lower and potentially hinder hin·der 1
