The equity's two-day drop of nearly seven percent has not only carried the Internet giant below key round-number support at the 400 level, but the shares have also breached support at their 80-day and 160-day moving averages. Furthermore, the stock has ventured below potential options-related support at the 380 level - site of peak put open interest in the May series. Looking ahead to June, peak put open interest lies at the 400 strike, removing the hope of potential support. At the moment, it appears GOOG is destined des·tine tr.v. des·tined, des·tin·ing, des·tines 1. This switch in mood is a significant change from yesterday's love affair. Ahead of last night's earnings report, open interest at the security's May 20 call swelled by nearly 3,000 contracts to total 10,300. Meanwhile, nearly 5,500 new positions were opened at the stock's June 22.50 call, pushing open interest to 9,900 contracts. With the stock plunging through peak put open interest at the 17.50 level, there is a good chance that EXPE could come under additional selling pressure as the last of the bears are shaken out of their long positions. On Thursday, open interest at the stock's June 30 call increased, while options speculators liquidated DAMAGES, LIQUIDATED, contracts. The stock could still reclaim peak put support at the 27.50 strike (home to more than 40,000 puts in the May series). Furthermore, the equity's 20-week moving average is climbing into the region and could lend a hand. This is definitely one worth keeping an eye on.
